Carbon Emacs package for fink environment

This is a unstable, test version of Carbon Emacs package for fink package management system. The aim of this package is to provide

  • Better integration with other Mac OS X native applications including (and not limited to) Finder.
  • Faster and richer support for Unicode.
  • Nicer appearances, taking advantage of Quartz API.
  • More convenient methods to input Japanese (and possibly other non-latain languages) through Mac OS X native input methods, with inline_patch.

Comments and suggestions are welcome. My e-mail address can be found at the bottom of this page (and in the .info file).

This is an experimental version, that can co-exist with other flavors of (non-Carbon) emacs22 packages.

Note: At this moment, you will have to remove "emacs22-carbon" from the Conflicts field in emacs22.info to have non-Carbon emacs22 and emacs22-carbon installed at the same time.

Version 22.0.50.20051004-1 is also in the fink unstable tree. This version will conflict with any other flavors of emacs22, but is more simple and (supposed to be) much safer then the newer one. I suggest you to try this first if you don't want to use non-Carbon emacs22.
